The popular Rugby Rocks Dorset Festival is returning for 2024!​

In 2023, Rugby Rocks Dorset became an unforgettable experience for over 2,000 rugby players and their families, and that is why we are recreating the magic for 2024.

Open to age groups U7 to U16, the rugby tour offers the convenience of staying together at the official festival campsite at Wareham Showground. Teams enjoy a short 15 to 20-minute walk or a quick five-minute commute by car or shuttle bus to the festival fields.

Rugby Rocks Dorset 2023 was a special weekend of rugby excitement, family fun and team camaraderie. Thrilling matches against the backdrop of a picturesque rugby club and terrace, along with live entertainment made it an extraordinary and memorable experience. We’re thrilled to host this amazing festival again in 2024 and can’t wait to see you there!

When it comes to providing a BIG welcome to touring teams Swanage & Wareham RFC are in the Premier Division. From the moment you arrive at their stunning facilities you cannot help but be impressed and you’re sure to have a smile from all the locals as the fun, frolics and plenty of great rugby gets underway.

Swanage & Wareham RFC are experts at hosting rugby festivals and over the years they have mastered the art of providing all clubs who join us at Rugby Rocks Dorset a fun, friendly experience in wonderful surroundings.

A range of hire options to suit all budgets and group sizes, we have a bell tent for everyone. We offer a choice of Standard, Classic and Luxury stay options…

Option 1 - Standard Bell tent

This unfurnished tent is perfect for those who want to bring their own furnishings and bedding. This is our 5m bell tent with groundsheet.

Option 2 - Classic bell tent

This semi-furnished tent – just bring your own beds and bedding. The tent comes with full carpet, mirror, low table, bedside wine boxes, interior fairy lights, bunting & exterior solar lights.

Option 3 - Luxury bell tent

A fully furnished tent including airbeds and bedding. This tent comes with Single & double mattresses with bedding, Full carpet, mirror, low table, bedside wine boxes, interior fairy lights, bunting & exterior solar lights.

Option 4 - Super luxury bell tent

A fully-furnished Super Luxury tent, including raised beds and luxury bedding. This super luxury tent comes with; throws and cushions, storage trunk, clothes rail & hangers, 1 x Towel per person, full carpet, mirror, low table, bedside wine boxes, interior fairy lights, bunting & exterior solar lights.

Pre-pitched Emperor tents

Suitable for large groups, the Emperor tents are more spacious than bell tents, offering a choice of Standard, Classic and Luxury stay options…

Option 5 - Standard Emperor tent

This unfurnished tent with groundsheet, is perfect for larger groups who want to bring their own furnishings and bedding.

Option 6 - Classic Emperor tent

This is our pre-pitched tent, with airbeds, sleeping bags and pillows.
Everything is all set-up – the perfect hassle-free option. 2 to 4 person tents available.

HOTEL OPTION

Dorset hotel accommodation

2 night or 3 nights stay including breakfast at a family orientated hotel. Evening meal supplement available for £18 per day.

Frequently asked questions

Yes of course, Tour International Ltd only offer family themed mini & junior rugby festivals, we welcome all mums, dads, siblings, guardians, grandparents and supporter to all our festivals to be part of your teams end of season tour.

We aim to offer each team taking part three matches on the Saturday and two matches on the Sunday as the set target, however this is dependent on the number of teams which enter at the age group you are part of and can vary from festival to festival.

What we always look to achieve is offering each team taking part in the festival the maximum permitted playing time allowed under RFU age grade rules for playing time on each day.

On occasions this is possible but is subject to the space and number of teams in the festival, if you can only play on one of the days, please let us know at the time you are making the booking for your team. Please note, at all festivals we operate priority is given to teams who can take part on two days and we may not be able to confirm your one-day entry until one month prior to the festival.

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own food and drink to the rugby festival, although we ask you to respect the host rugby club and remember the host club will have gone to a lot of trouble to make available food and beverages for you to purchase at a reasonable price and to enjoy throughout the weekend at the rugby festival.

At the campsite and hotels, you are free to bring your own food and drink in to your rooms and immediately outside your own accommodation but you should not take your own food and drink into the public areas of the campsite or hotels.

Yes, it is, when you participate in the festival you also book accommodation to stay at throughout the weekend and in doing so this also enables you to enter your team (s) to take part in the festival and for supporters to access the rugby festival venue and cheer you on.

Teams of all standards are welcome at Tour International festivals; you need not worry what standard of level of play you are at as we will structure the rugby festival so that by the end of the festival, we do all we can to match teams of similar ability so they are playing each other.

 

There will be many different levels of tournament categories which teams will qualify for after the first day of play based on the results from your day one matches, leaving you confident that you know come day two of the rugby festival you will be playing against teams of similar ability in a competition for silverware regardless of you day one results.
